PROVIDENCE, RI, August 21, 2025Partridge Snow & Hahn (PSH), a full-service business law and litigation firm, announces the second session of the Philanthropy on Tap series, an educational and networking program designed to highlight how strategic giving can create meaningful impact for both businesses and the community. The upcoming session will be held on Wednesday, September 10 at 4:30pm at Moby Dick Brewing Co. in New Bedford, MA. PSH Partners Elizabeth O. Manchester, Brian J. Reilly, and Russell J. Stein will lead a discussion on the strategic side of philanthropy, including:

  • Structuring impactful giving: co-ventures, employee match programs, and corporate donations
  • Corporate foundations: benefits and best practices
  • Exit planning: tax-smart charitable strategies and private foundation options.

A networking reception will follow the educational programming. An additional Philanthropy on Tap session will be held in the Boston area on November 5, 2025. Look for full event details in early fall.

As Chair of the PSH Nonprofit & Tax-Exempt Practice Group, Manchester represents tax-exempt entities, centered on compliance, formation, charitable gift planning issues and best practices. She has extensive experience assisting institutions with the inception of planned giving programs, as well as corporate governance matters and maintenance of tax-exempt status. Manchester advises charitable institutions and institutions of higher learning about tax benefits available to donors, to assist in discussions with donors to appropriately advance the organization’s mission. Serving as external general counsel for public charities and private foundations, Manchester advises nonprofits regarding board education and training, fiduciary obligation advice, compliance, donor representation, endowment fund management, finance, Form 990, reporting issues, governance, joint ventures, affiliations and litigation prevention. In addition, she advises nonprofits regarding managing bequests and complex gifts for organizations, mergers and acquisitions, obtaining and maintaining tax exemptions, policies, political and lobbying restrictions and tax.

Reilly concentrates his practice on transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions and general corporate and real estate matters. He regularly acts as general outside counsel for clients, addressing their day-to-day business issues. Reilly frequently represents entrepreneurs and investors with respect to formation matters, contract negotiation and drafting, and capital raising matters. He also offers comprehensive, practical advice to clients on matters such as choice of entity and business organization, equity and debt financing, employee incentive compensation plans (equity and non-equity), shareholder/partnership agreements, leasing, licensing, employment, tax, and exit strategies and succession planning.

Stein advises businesses on mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters, and the intricacies of the U.S. Federal and State tax regulations. He has extensive experience counseling nonprofit organizations, charities, and private foundations on a variety of issues ranging from start-up organizational matters through mergers and dissolutions. He provides guidance on joint ventures and partnerships between nonprofit and for-profit entities, including advice regarding state regulations and registration requirements involving commercial co-venture agreements.
