PROVIDENCE, RI, April 8, 2026 – Partridge Snow & Hahn (PSH), a full-service business law and litigation firm, is pleased to announce that partner Travis J. McDermott has been named by Daniel McKee to serve as Chairperson of the Rhode Island Governor’s Insurance Council. McDermott has been a member of the Council since his initial appointment by former Governor Gina Raimondo in 2019.
Established by executive order in 1991, the Rhode Island Governor’s Insurance Council works closely with state officials to advise on insurance-related matters affecting the state. The Council plays an important role within Rhode Island’s broader regulatory framework, collaborating with the Department of Business Regulation and the Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner to support consumer protection and promote a stable insurance marketplace.
In his role as Chairperson, McDermott will help guide the Council’s efforts in monitoring industry developments, advising the Governor on key trends, and providing recommendations related to legislation impacting the insurance sector.
