Grillo's Pickles began with a pickle cart, just a small wooden stand in downtown Boston, where Travis Grillo and his friends would sell two spears for one dollar. Travis would make the pickles by night using his family's 100-year old recipe - one he'd memorized from making pickles every summer as a kid. In the morning, Travis would bike to the Boston Common and set up the cart with his buddies. They'd hang out all day, urging people to try the simple Grillo family pickle. It was a small business but Travis worked hard for it. He made more pickles, biked more miles, and slept less hours than he ever had before.

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: Factory Five Racing

Factory Five Racing was founded in 1995. Over the years they have grown from a start-up business in a small garage to become the world's largest manufacturer of "build-it-yourself" component car kits. They employ a full-time crew of about 40 people, and are located in Wareham, Massachusetts (about an hour south of Boston). They make their products right here in the USA, in the heart of New England where American manufacturing was born.

When the boys grew up, Fred moved to New York and began working on Wall Street as an investment banker, while younger brother Danny, still enamored by the family business, stayed home. Increased competition from overseas businesses created significant challenges for the business, but Danny was confident he could find a way for the family business to evolve and thrive.         Partridge Snow & Hahn Grows in Boston With Addition of Russell J. Stein and Jeffrey Sarasohn

        Partridge Snow & Hahn (PS&H) is pleased to announce that Russell J. Stein and Jeffrey Sarasohn have joined the firm as Of Counsel and Associate respectively, in the firm’s Boston office. Russell’s practice focuses on the intricacies of U.S. Federal and State tax regulations and advising non-profit charities and charitable foundations on Federal tax regulations and State charitable regulations. Jeffrey provides business support to banks, financial institutions, and operating companies by drafting and negotiating operating agreements, limited partnership agreements, and a variety of commercial agreements, as well as by drafting and reviewing corporate policies and procedures.

        Prior to joining PS&H, Russell was in practice with Sheehan Phinney Bass & Green PA. As a generalist tax attorney, he has garnered significant experience on a wide range of transactional tax issues, including those relating to employee benefits and non-profit organizations. During his career, he has represented business owners in business formations, and buyers and sellers in various mergers and acquisitions, including stock purchases, tax-deferred corporate mergers and asset sales. He has also advised companies on how the recent tax law changes affect their businesses and on international taxes and tax structures relating to in-bound and out-bound investments.

        Russell earned his B.A. from Northwestern University, an M.B.A. from Boston University School of Management, and his J.D. and LL.M. in taxation from Boston University School of Law.

        Jeffrey comes to PS&H from Audax Group, an investment advisory and asset management firm in Boston, where he held the title of Senior Staff Attorney and Compliance Officer. In this position, he provided legal and operational counsel across the marketing, business development and corporate development functions. His work included drafting and negotiating a variety of non-disclosure, vendor engagement and sell-side/buy-side agreements. He also oversaw portions of the firm’s investment adviser compliance program and reviewed fund operational documents relating to fundraising and ongoing compliance efforts. 

        Jeffrey received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
