DE&I

At PSH, we take pride in having a culture that values, celebrates, and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion. We fully embrace diversity and firmly believe that one of our greatest assets as a firm is the diversity of each of our employee’s backgrounds, cultures, identities, experiences, skills, styles, strategies, perspectives, and values. Our employees feel a sense of belonging at PSH – not because they are the same as everyone else – because they are valued for who they are. Diversity enhances the legal services we provide, as it enables us to craft solutions for clients that are tailored to meet their unique legal needs. Simply put, diversity is a bedrock to our firm.

DEI Committee

PSH’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (“DEI Committee”) is tasked with implementing our firm’s diversity initiatives.

The DEI Committee’s objectives include:

  • Creating a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusivity within PSH and in the performance of the legal services we provide;
  • Organizing DEI and bias training for PSH employees
  • Ensuring that PSH continues to recruit, attract, hire, and retain diverse employees
  • Demonstrating to the community at-large PSH’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity

Members of the DEI Committee currently include the following attorneys:

PSH in the Community

Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion goes beyond our offices. We also celebrate and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within our communities. Every year, PSH makes a financial contribution to Rhode Island Latino Dollars for Scholars (“LADO”), a nonprofit college scholarship fund benefiting Latino and Hispanic students. In addition, many of our employees are actively engaged in community organizations dedicated to furthering diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Our attorneys are active in several professional organizations that advocate on behalf of various diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. In addition, each year PSH demonstrates its support of the American Bar Association’s Resolution 113, which asks law firms to complete its Model Diversity Survey to help law firms and clients analyze the role that racial and ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ+, and disabled lawyers play in law firms and on client matters.

Women’s Affinity Group

The Women’s Affinity Group supports the retention, development, and progression of women lawyers and leaders; increases internal opportunities for engagement among members of the firm; and partners with clients, professional affiliates, and others who are working toward diversity.
