Mr. Cassara is Co-Chair of the Firm's Corporate Practice Group and represents clients in the manufacturing, distribution, technology and service industries in a variety of corporate and business matters, including business formations, mergers and acquisitions, contracts and licensing, debt and equity financing, commercial lending, and franchising. He is a frequent lecturer on these topics in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
REPRESENTATIVE TRANSACTIONS:
- Represented a multi-generation manufacturer in the sale of its assets to a publicly-traded entity
- Represented several entrepreneur start-up companies with business formation, intellectual property and venture capital financing matters
- Represented several national franchise owners in the acquisition of multiple franchise locations
- Represented a family-owned distribution company in the acquisitions of several of its competitors
- Represented several insurance agencies in various acquisition transactions
Mr. Cassara received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School and his B.A. in Economics from Boston College. He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and is a member of the American Bar Association, Franchise Forum, the Rhode Island Bar Association, Business Organizations Committee, and the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations. Mr. Cassara is a member of the Board of Directors of the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society, a Leadership SouthCoast Alumnus, a New Bedford Youth Court Advocate and a member of the Investment Board and Board of Directors of the Greater New Bedford Workforce
