Ms. Baran focuses her practice in the areas of real estate and commercial lending. She advises real estate owners and developers, including for-profit, not-for-profit, and governmental entities, with regard to acquisitions, sales and leasing, title, land use, subdivision and zoning, condominium planning, and environmental issues. Ms. Baran was named by Providence Business News as a 2006 40 Under Forty award recipient. .

In her commercial lending practice, Ms. Baran counsels financial institutions in connection with real estate and construction financing, non-profit lending, letter of credit financing, and asset-based credit facilities. She also represents the interests of financial institutions in the restructuring and modification of nonperforming commercial loans and in various credit workout matters, bankruptcy and receivership proceedings.

Ms. Baran is admitted to practice in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Jersey and before the United States District Court in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Boston University School of Law. She holds a B.A. in history, cum laude, and a B.S. in journalism from Boston University.

Ms. Baran is a board member and Past President of the Rhode Island Women’s Bar Association and is a member of Leading Women. She is the Immediate Past President of the Junior League of Rhode Island and volunteers for St. Mary’s Home for Children, the Center for Women & Enterprise and Amos House. She is a Mission & Action Committee Member of the Central Congregational Church. Ms. Baran was named by Providence Business News as a 2006 40 Under Forty award recipient. She was honored as one of “40 Magical Women We Admire” at the Big Sister of Rhode Island’s Abracadabra Ball.
