Mr. Murray advises and defends employers in a wide range of employment and labor law cases involving discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour claims, Family and Medical Leave Act, disability and accommodation claims, non-compete agreements, employment contract matters and personnel policy issues. He is experienced in public and private sector collective bargaining, grievances and arbitrations, unfair labor practices and representation elections. Mr. Murray is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and regularly appears in State and Federal Courts and before administrative agencies in both states. He frequently lectures and leads seminars on wage and hour issues and other employment matters.
Mr. Murray is a member of the Massachusetts, Rhode Island, American and Bristol County Bar Associations. He is a member of the Board of Directors, Secretary and member of the Employment Labor Law Mentoring Program of the New Bedford Bar Association.
Mr. Murray has a long history of commitment to the community. He is a past member of the City of New Bedford Human Relations Commission, the Bristol County Personnel Review Board and the Bristol County Massachusetts Insurance Advisory Board. Currently he is a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Wine Festival Committee for the Waterfront Historic Action League (WHALE), Board of Directors for Leadership SouthCoast, Board of Directors and Assistant Secretary for the Rotary Club of New Bedford and Pastoral Planning Committee of Diocese of Fall River. Additionally, Mr. Murray is an active member of Our Lady of Fatima, Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of New Bedford and the New Bedford Youth Court Program.
Mr. Murray received his J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, in History from Stonehill College.
