Mr. Lovell's practice includes the representation of creditors in litigation, bankruptcy and state court receivership matters, as well as class action defense of lenders, including TILA and HOEPA complaints. He is the Chair of the Firm’s Creditors’ Rights Practice Group and advises lending institutions, banks and mortgage companies on creditors’ rights matters and works with these institutions to enforce their rights under Rhode Island and Massachusetts law. Mr. Lovell also represents lenders in the workout and collection of non-performing commercial loans.

Mr. Lovell is also a frequent lecturer on creditors’ rights matters and was the chair of the USFN Bankruptcy Committee. The Firm is a founding member of the USFN – America’s Mortgage Banking Attorneys, for both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The USFN is a nationwide organization of independent law firms which provide foreclosure, bankruptcy and related services to mortgage lenders.

Mr. Lovell is a member of the American, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations and admitted to practice law in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Florida and before the U.S. District Court for the Districts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals 1st Circuit. He obtained his J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School and his B.A. with highest honors from the University of Rhode Island. Mr. Lovell also attended the United States Air Force Academy and was an Army helicopter pilot. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Maritime Law Association, and USFN where he is on the Bankruptcy Committee and Legal Issues Committee. He has been elected to the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. Mr. Lovell was General Counsel to the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce from 2000 - 2007, a charter member of the Providence Sunrise Rotary Club. He has completed Leadership Rhode Island.
