Mr. Gladstone has a breadth of experience in civil litigation matters with an emphasis on land use, construction, condemnation and property tax related issues. He works closely with developers and other property owners in analyzing land use projects, identifying necessary approvals and permits as well as conducting administrative hearings to obtain required permitting and approvals.
REPRESENTATIVE TRANSACTIONS

Successfully argued a number of the major land use cases in the Rhode Island Supreme Court, including cases involving the scope of a municipality’s jurisdiction as it relates to coastal waters, major property tax and zoning issues, scope of municipal redevelopment agencies authority
- Represented the condemning authority in one of the largest land takings in the State of Rhode Island’s history
- Obtained zoning relief and permits for some of the largest recent developments in the State
- Represented private property owners in condemnation related negotiations and litigation

Successfully tried a number of major cases relating to private property rights, state procurement, and other complex commercial and business related litigation
Mr. Gladstone is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, Municipal Law Committee and Fee Arbitration Committee, and the American and Massachusetts Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice law in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals 1st Circuit, and the U.S. District Court in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Mr. Gladstone obtained his J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School where he received the 1st Year Moot Court Best Brief Award, and served as an Editor of the
Suffolk University Law Review. He earned his B.A. from the University of Vermont. He is past Chairman of the Board and Legal Counsel for the Diabetes Foundation of Rhode Island, Inc., a member of the Board of Directors of Community Day School Task Force for Jewish Federation of Rhode Island and for Temple Emanuel, and serves as a member of the President's Council of the Jewish Community Day School of Rhode Island.
